How You Can Help:

Orbus Ministries Australia Inc. (ABN 14 458 768 638) is a Public Benevolent Institution endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) covered by Item 1.

Tax-deductible donations can be made by Australian donors to assist with the schools and future projects:

A/C Name: Orbus Ministries Australia Inc.
Bank: Bank of Melbourne/Westpac
BSB: 333 038
Account No: 553 913 774

While the Orbus schools in Malawi have succeeded in becoming financially self-sustainable on a day to day operating basis, the rapid growth in student numbers in 2021 has led to needs which donors are invited to contribute toward at the schools. There are also ongoing opportunities to develop new Orbus projects in Malawi.

1- Help continue to develop the CCAP Orbus Mission Primary and Secondary Schools in Ngumbe, Malawi. As at April 2022 there are current needs at the schools including the need for new classrooms, a new boarding accommodation building, teacher accommodation building, a multi-purpose hall (for dining/church services/assemblies/hiring out), administration building, chemistry lab, library and computer room. Donors can also help with school resources, funds to employ new teachers, new programs, sporting teams, the provision of a school bus, a fence around the property.

2- Future possible l
ocal employment-generating projects and enterprises in Malawi:  There are low employment levels in the areas surrounding Orbus. The hope is we can develop a trades skills development centre to train some students after they complete secondary school, and also other projects which can employ some of the students once they have completed school.

Anything we could do to train students and generate jobs would be very helpful. Project ideas include:

  • Orbus Trades Skills Vocational Training Centre.
  • I.T. Training Centre.
  • Establish an income generating eco-tourism project.
  • Make and distribute fuel efficient stoves.
  • Distribute and install solar panels.
  • Large scale tree nursery and planting.
  • Establish new, and maintain old, clean water wells with pumps.
  • Build small homes for orphan or grandmother led families.

3- Non-tax-deductible donations can be made to put Bibles into the hands of prisoners, or to supply the Orbus school and church, or to distribute in the surrounding community in Malawi. For no administration cost Orbus Australia can buy Chichewa language Bibles direct from the Bible Society in Blantyre and have them distributed directly in Malawi.
