Sure and Steady

Sure and Steady.

"Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way;
say to those with fearful hearts,
“Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you.” (Isaiah 35:3-4).

Our hands are often feeble, our knees weak. We do not see things as God sees them and we often scramble about thinking it all depends on us and we need to do things. This often leads us to doing the wrong things, getting stressed and stumbling. Like when we see someone seemingly getting away with dishonest or inappropriate gain.

Sometimes we do have to act but ultimately we have to leave the outcome with God and rest in that. He will sort it all out and He doesn't need us.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9).

We too frequently fear and do not see the bigger picture in this life. Rest assured, all is well. God is in complete control. He saves and watches over His people. He brings about justice. He is a merciful, loving Father God, desiring to give good gifts to His children, desiring to bless them, and He is the only one able to truly bless them. This often doesn't look like how we would do it. But God knows what is best for us. Worthy of trust is our Father God.

"Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." (Isaiah 55:7).

So, take a deep breath, calm your mind and go confidently, knowing your steps are sure and steady with Christ.
