Temporary Tears
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4).
All the sorrow, sadness, the pain, the heartache, the grieving, and disappointments of this life are passing away (as with all other aspects of this life, including death itself).
One day for God's people these presently sad things will no longer even be sad. Think about that. There will be nothing but rejoicing.
So, lift your tear-stained eyes to God in readiness for the future He has in store for you.
Leave the sorrows of this life, the regrets, disappointments, broken dreams, and your broken heart behind you where they belong, along with all your self-pity. Lock them away securely in preparation for their permanent passing away.
Thank you, God, for this future hope. Help me to lift my eyes to you in the midst of these earthly pains and focus my thoughts on you and this glorious future awaiting me. Help me to be useful to you while I wait. In Jesus Name. Amen.
